ICI aims to support IP and LC organizations to receive, manage, and implement larger funding resources, which means that much work goes on behind the scenes to support the capacity strengthening of various skillsets, which range from advancements in financial and administrative areas to policy advocacy and gender equality needs.
Through ICI organizational needs assessments conducted with IP and LC organizations, as well as inputs from IP and LC capacity-building partners and initiatives, six topics were selected and approved by ICI’s Global Steering Committee to be developed into self-paced learning modules – forming the heart of the Makanisi Academy’s curricula.
As ICI aims to scale its learning with the globe, these learning resources are available to all, hosted by the UNDP Learning for Nature Platform as a Friend of ICI. These modules are developed with and by IP and LC leaders, for IP and LC stakeholders to support the capacities of all IP and LC organizations to access, manage, and implement larger-scale conservation finance.
